Hello,

My name is Kimberly Maryury. I’m 23 years old. I arrived at Sociedad Amigos when I was just two years old, along with my five siblings, due to malnutrition and extreme poverty.

What seemed like a difficult time in my life became the beginning of a new story: there we found not only a safe place, but a true family that filled us with love, care, and hope.

I grew up surrounded by wonderful people, including foreign visitors who, with their affection and dedication, planted dreams in me that I had never known existed. In that home, I learned values that guide my life today: gratitude, responsibility, perseverance, and love for others. I also received a complete education, from kindergarten through high school, where I learned English and computer skills and discovered the power of education as a tool to transform my future.

Today, I am finishing my university degree in hospitality and tourism, a decision born from my passion for service and for connecting with people from different cultures. Through my work, I want to provide experiences that make others feel good and proudly represent the richness of my country.

The journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced academic and emotional challenges, moments of uncertainty, and constant effort. However, each obstacle has strengthened my character and taught me not to give up. Much of my strength comes from knowing that I was never alone, that there were people who believed in me and invested in my future.

My biggest dream is to continue growing professionally and, one day, be able to give back everything I’ve received by supporting other young people who, like me, just need an opportunity to succeed.

To you, donors, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support not only funds studies, it transforms lives, builds dreams, and sows hope where it’s needed most.
