Seventeen, excited, eager folks are signed up to undertake more upgrades to the Nuevo Paraiso Children’s Village school in Honduras this November. Last year, the Grace Building Brigade constructed much-needed, washrooms with flush toilets and running water in the sinks; something most children had never experienced! Safety concerns are the focus of this upcoming trip. Increased traffic on the roads by the elementary school call for the need of a protective wall around the perimeter of the Nuevo school yard, and this brigade from Peterborough, Ontario is ready to provide. My name is Judy Martin. I am a volunteer and donor with Friends of Honduran Children. I had the lifetime opportunity to join a FoHC brigade in March 2018. I hoped to find a child to sponsor. Global Kids Initiative

Friends of Honduran Children’s Education Committee is launching a new initiative called “Global Kids”. This 90-minute educational program, which is designed to help local children learn more about children around the world, will be offered to grade 2 teachers at schools in the Peterborough area. Using our work with children in Honduras as a context, volunteers from the committee will facilitate students’ participation in a variety of experiential activities.
